Who responded on behalf of Government?

Who responded on behalf of government

You will have had the “Government response” by now.  We have asked (email address blanked out for security!) exactly who responded.  This is the reply:

By Government response, we mean a written response from the government department responsible for the subject of the petition. The response is sent by email to everyone who has signed the petition and it is published on the e-petitions website.

The response to the petition: Scrap Fracking UK Wide & Invest in Green Energy was provided by the Government Department of Energy & Climate Change https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-of-energy-climate-change

You can find all published responses to e-petitions by following this link:

I work for the Petitions Committee in the House of Commons. The Committee is made up of 11 MPs, from political parties in government and in opposition, and it is entirely independent of the Government.
You can find out more about the role of the Committee here: http://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/petitions-committee/role/

At its next meeting in September, the Committee will look at both the petition and the Government response.
